The basics of field hockey
The New Albany Field Hockey Club is a non-profit organization that provides girls in grades 6-12 the opportunity to learn and play the game of field hockey. For further information about summer camps and field hockey clinics please

High School Team (JV/Varsity):
Participation is open to New Albany High School girls (grades 9-12) and all players must adhere to the NAHS Athletics requirements. New Albany Varsity Field Hockey is an official school sport as of Fall 2012.

The Middle School Team is open to girls in grades 6-8 and no previous experience is required. The team is open to non-residents providing space is available. The season begins early August and ends mid-October. Practices and home games will be held at Bevelhymer Park in the yellow zone. Please see the Bevelhymer Park web page for a Field Layout Map. Games will be played against other school and club teams from the surrounding area. Players must provide their own transportation to away games. Middle School players should expect to practice/play at least 3 times per week. Linked below is our NAFHC spirit wear form, please note there is one MANDATORY item required which is a reversible practice jersey.
Cost and Registration: The participation fee is $180 per player and you can register by going to the Online Registration page of this site. A $50 Non-resident fee will be applied for all players outside of the New Albany-Plain Local school district. Registration is on a first come basis and preference will be given to NAPL residents if space becomes an issue.
Required Middle School Forms: Forms can be downloaded from this site. Forms must be turned in at the first practice.

Required Equipment: Goggles*, mouth guard, shin guards, cleats, black kilt, plain black knee socks and plain white knee socks. Jerseys will be provided and must be returned. *Goggles are a new requirement for 2011 and must be one of two acceptable styles. Acceptable styles are polycarbonate lens or wire frame and both must meet the ASTM F2713-09 standard. When selecting goggles, note that field hockey and lacrosse goggles are different so verify that your goggles meet the aforementioned standard.
