The basics of youth golf

New Albany Youth Golf Program
New Albany Parks and Recreation is proud to partner with Winding Hollow Golf & Event Center for an introductory junior golf program. The program will be an introduction to the game of golf covering the topics of rules and etiquette, short game (putting and chipping), irons and woods. Lead instructors will be Winding Hollow’s PGA Head Professional Justin Armour, New Albany Country Club’s PGA Director of Instruction Jon Decker and Ryan Hosack, PGA Professional for the nine week program. The program will be open to 50 children, ages 7-18.

Instruction
Jon Decker, PGA Director of Instruction at New Albany Country Club.  Jon has been named to the Golf Digest's Top 20 instructors in the state of Florida while working at the Grand Cypress Resort's Academy of Golf.  Jon has worked with all caliber of players including PGA Tour players and LPGA Tour players. 

Justin Armour. PGA Head Professional at Winding Hollow Golf & Event Center. Justin came from New Albany Country Club four years ago to take the position of Head Professional at Winding Hollow Justin has been a PGA member for six years and has an extensive experience in golf operations, retail and instruction.

Ryan Hosack, PGA Professional
Ryan is the first assistant golf professional at Columbus Country Club.  Ryan spent the past three seasons at New Albany Country Club as an active leader in junior golf.  Ryan is a Class A member of the PGA and is a graduate of the PGA PGM Program at Coastal Carolina University.

Attire and Etiquette
Proper attire is required when attending the sessions. Non-denim pants should be worn and collared shirts. Etiquette, history and integrity of the game will be covered during the sessions.

How to Register
Online Registration: March 14th – May 27th

Sessions
All sessions will be held at the Winding Hollow Golf & Event Center. Participants are welcome to register for the entire 9-week session, or select certain weeks. The deadline to register for weekly sessions will be the Friday prior to that week’s lesson.
